After a Bowen Treatment session:
- Drink extra water to help the body expel toxins and re-hydrate.
- Avoid strenuous exercise after the treatment, walking is encouraged.
- Wait at least 5 – 7 days for the next treatment.
- Avoid spas and massages.
- In between sessions, other hands-on therapies should be avoided as it may interfere with the effectiveness of the Bowen work.
- Following Bowen treatment you may feel tired and relaxed, this is your body’s natural response to the treatment and the symptoms are short lived.
- There may-be simple exercises / stretches given to you to perform in between treatments
- Walking is a good exercise especially for those whom struggle with a routine daily exercise program.
A chronic condition may take longer to respond to Bowen work. Generally, children and babies respond more quickly so shorter treatment times and less sessions are often required.
